Zooka Creative hired me to shoot a new kind of campaign for their client, hard drive innovators, Lacie. The company was going in a new direction in terms of marketing. Instead of focusing on product shots they wanted to create imagery of the users of their products, in this case, high end image creators, like photographers and videographers.
One of the scenes we needed to get was a videographer capturing a mountain biker. This created a really fun set of challenges. First I needed an amazing mountain biker who could fly in the air. Then I needed a space where we could clearly see him in the sky. A lot of the spots in the Bay Area that had jumps were under a heavy tree cover, like the image further down below. After some serious location scouting and some fun practicing we got plenty of options, plus a couple of seemingly close calls (no videographers were harmed in the making of these images).
